Ciumai

The Ciumai winery was founded in 1940 and is located in Bujac, in the southern region of Moldova. The winery is situated between the Prut and Danube Rivers and the Black Sea. Its territory represents an area stretching for 11 km from north to south, with a total land area of 3,000 hectares. Grape plantations make up about 1,000 hectares, where an assortment of both white and red varieties is grown. The climate of this region is moderate continental, with short and rather mild winters and long hot summers; comparable in many ways with the South of France. Ciumai processes approximately 10,000 tons of grapes per month and produces over 20 varieties of wines.
